WATERING SCHEDULE

IRRIGATION TIPS

Here are a couple key points regarding building your drought muscle for your lawn.

Turn on your sprinklers and measure how much water they put out in a 15 minute period using a flat bottom can like a tuna can.

From there, extrapolate how long you would need to run the sprinklers to put one inch of water on your lawn.

After the lawn dries, mow it to a minimum height of 3 inches. This shades the soil to retain moisture and blocks out the sun to prevent weeds. Also, mulch the clippings back into the lawn.

Water only when the grass starts to turn blue. That could be as little as once a week. Do this until the temperature starts ramping up, late June, and then increase the watering to 2" at a time.

This encourages deep root growth that will help maintain the lawn not only on very hot days but also when we will Got have water like if our water gets cut off in August!

Common Irrigation Questions:

Irrigation water is on a "best case" scenario. If plants, trees are planted and depend on irrigation water, sometimes irrigation will not be available. Construction, drought, farmers and lots of other environmental factors can cause irrigation outages. The CCR's below does guide homeowner to have "alternative" options and irrigation water is not guaranteed. See below and CCRs for more information on this.

HOA Board will work hard to ensure Irrigation is on. However, there will be some times when it is down, and please use house water to water lawn if needed.
